Aircraft Line Supervisor – Flightways

Overview
Flightways at Columbus Airport is seeking a dedicated and experienced Line Supervisor to lead the daily operations of the Aircraft Line Service Technician team within our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aircraft service and possess exceptional leadership skills. This role requires effective communication and organizational abilities to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership

  • Oversee the Line Service Technician team to ensure compliance with safety standards and customer service expectations.
  • Assign daily tasks, coordinate shift schedules to optimize staffing levels for operational needs.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for resolving operational issues and/or conflicts on the ground.
  • Assist the FBO Manager with personnel recommendations, including participation in the interview process when growing the team.

2. Aircraft Servicing Oversight:

  • Oversee aircraft servicing operations to include refueling operations using appropriate equipment, aircraft towing and parking maneuvers, and aircraft marshaling.
  • Coordinate pre-flight and post-flight inspections of aircraft to check for any signs of damage, leaks, or irregularities.

3. Customer Service:

  • Provide high-quality customer service to pilots, crew members, and passengers by addressing their needs promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with baggage handling, including loading and unloading luggage; assisting passengers with boarding/disembarking aircraft.
  • Communicate effectively with flight crews to coordinate service requests and ensure timely departure/arrival of flights.

4. Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all aviation regulations, company policies, and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of ground support equipment (GSE) to ensure proper functioning, reporting any maintenance and/or repair needs as required.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and drills to enhance awareness of emergency procedures and hazards associated with aircraft servicing operations.

5. Administrative Support:

  • Maintain accurate records of aircraft movements, fuel transactions (to include monitoring fuel levels and ordering fuel as needed), and service activities in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the FBO Manager to identify process improvements that will optimize efficiency.

Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years experience in aircraft line service operations, ground handling, or ramp operations required.
  • Knowledge of aviation fueling procedures, safety practices, and regulatory requirements required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
  • Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods of time in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work some irregular hours, including evenings/weekends/holidays as required by operational needs. (Additional pay may apply to after hours work on a conditional basis)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $26.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
